Do you bring ethical considerations of vendors / partners up at work? If so, how?

Regarding return statements inside functions, which way do you prefer? Usually we have freedom for that and it makes a significant difference on how the code looks (more/less indentation, tracking in your mind is different) Long time ago I started using returns for early guards. Then I additionally started using return instead of the last "else" block. And then after a while I started returnmaxxing everything in between for the lack of a better word... But now im looking at the other way around
